What to bring for Camp: · Band Fees (wind and percussion)- 2010-2011 CHS Band Financial Obligations will be outlined in greater detail in the Band Handbook (to be passed out around the first week of school). $150 - by the end of the first week of camp If you are not up to date on that, please get as close as possible. This money goes to pay for band camp staff, the show, and other needs to get our season rolling. · Forms – Along with band fees, students must also turn in medical forms. These are located on the downloads page of the website or at the band room. · Attire for Camp- Light colored shirt, shorts, socks and lace-up tennis shoes- no bare feet or sandals- this will be strictly enforced for your safety. · Sunscreen- Sunburn is not an excuse to miss rehearsal. Bring sunscreen, hat and sunglasses to avoid these types of injuries. · Water (“Gush-and-Go”) - Bring your own water container. Personal 1 gallon water coolers work the best. You will need as much water as possible. Students may not under any circumstances share water containers! Anything considered trash after you finish drinking out of it is not an acceptable water container (i.e. 20 ounce bottled water). · Equipment- everyone is responsible for his/her mouthpiece, reed, valve oil, etc. This includes school owned instruments. · Flip Folders and Lyres- All wind players are expected to have a flip folder and a lyre. Tuba players do not need a lyre. Any local music store will help you with purchasing these items. |
