JOSH BIBBS - Assistant Director of Bands

 

 

Josh Bibbs is Director of Bands at Clinton Middle School and South Clinton Elementary School. He is the Woodwind Caption Head with the Marching Band and conducts the Concert Band. After serving as student teacher with the Clinton Band in 2004, Mr. Bibbs received a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the UT Wind Ensemble and "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band. Mr. Bibbs began his teaching career in southern North Carolina before returning to Clinton.  As a bass clarinetist, Mr. Bibbs has performed professionally with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Knoxville Opera Company, as well as, other musical organizations across Tennessee.

 

 

AUSTIN WILLIAMS - Assistant Director of Bands

 

 

Austin Williams is Director of Bands at Norwood Middle School and Clinton Elementary School. Mr. Williams also serves as the Director of Percussion at the high school. Mr. Williams graduated from Calloway County High School in Murray, KY, and received a B.M. in Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Tennessee. At UT, he was a 5-year member of the "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band and a 4-year Section Leader of the UT Drumline. He was also a member of the UT Symphony Orchestra, with whom he was the Principal Timpanist for 2 years, the UT Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Prior to this year, Mr. Williams was on the percussion staff with the Anderson County High School Band. Mr. Williams is an alumnus of the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps out of Lexington, KY, and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps out of Toledo, OH. Mr. Williams' professional memberships include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and the Percussive Arts Society.

 

 

JASON FRANKLIN - Colorguard Instructor

 

 

Jason Franklin is in his fourth year on our staff as a guard instructor.  He is a graduate of Sullivan East High School and is currently an Education Major at TTU.  He designs and writes for many color guards/ winter guards throughout Tennessee and Virginia.  He has led Clinton High School Winter Guard to win the 2007 CIPA HSAI Bronze Medal, and 2008 CIPA HSAI Gold Medal, and led Clinton Middle School Winter Guard to win the 2008 CIPA Prep Guard Gold Medal.  He also started and taught Johnson County High School Winter Guard a 2007 CIPA Novice Class Silver Medalist.   Jason also currently serves on the Carolina Indoor Performance Association Board of Directors.
